Islamic university opens in Tirana

TIRANA, Albania -- An Islamic university was inaugurated in Tirana on Thursday (April 7th), the first ever in Albania. At the ceremony, the head of the Muslim community, Haxhi Selim Muca, said that Islam is not a religion of violence and destruction, but a religion of faith and knowledge. Prime Minister Sali Berisha urged all citizens to unite and speed-up Albania's development. (Top News, News 24, Balkan Web - 07/04/11)
