Albanian killed in Serb-dominated northern Mitrovica

PRISTINA, Kosovo -- Police say an Albanian was killed in Serb-dominated northern Mitrovica late on Tuesday (September 7th). The victim, Hakif Mehmeti, was shot near his house in the Miners Hill neighbourhood, where the Albanian population is concentrated. According to local reports, Mehmeti worked in the media as a cameraman. Police spokesperson Besim Hoti said they are looking for a car without registration plates that was spotted at the scene and said it is too early to discuss possible motives.
