Greek coast guard detains 115 illegal immigrants

ATHENS, Greece -- Members of the Coast Guard saved 115 illegal immigrants whose ship sent an SOS signal while off the Aegean island of Chios on Friday (September 3rd). The Italy-bound vessel was carrying 66 men, 20 women and 29 children. Police detained two alleged smugglers -- a Turk and a Georgian. (ANSAmed, Anadolu news agency, Hurriyet - 03/09/10)
