British ambassador appointed as EULEX deputy chief

03/09/2010

PRISTINA, Kosovo -- British Ambassador to Kosovo Andy Sparks has been appointed as EULEX deputy head, according to an announcement Thursday (September 2nd). The diplomat, known for his strong backing of EULEX in the fight against corruption and organised crime, will replace Roy Reeve in the number two spot. Head of Mission Yves de Kermabon says Sparks has the experience required for a large rule of law operation in a difficult environment, noting he had been ambassador to Kosovo since April 2008. He will serve for one year, starting by mid-October. (Express, Kosova Sot, Lajm, Zeri - 03/09/10)
