Romania reports first West Nile virus cases

BUCHAREST, Romania -- Two people have died and at least five others have been infected with the West Nile virus, the health ministry confirmed late on Monday (August 30th). These were the first confirmed cases of the virus in the country. On Tuesday, health authorities urged people to seek medical help should they feel headache, muscle pain, fever or nausea. Greece registered the first cases in the region, in early August. (AP, Hotnews.ro, Gandul - 31/08/10)
