28/07/2010

BRUSSELS, Belgium -- French General Xavier Bout de Marnhac will be leading the EULEX mission starting October 15th, the EU's Political and Security Committee decided on Tuesday (July 27th), at the recommendation of EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton. De Marnhac will succeed French General Yves de Kermabon, who has led the mission since February 2008. De Marnhac served as KFOR commander from 2007 to 2008. Before the announcement, de Kermabon presented a report on Kosovo and pledged a step-by-step implementation of the strategy for the Serb-dominated north.
