EULEX raids PTK offices in Pristina

16/07/2010

PRISTINA, Kosovo -- Dozens of EULEX investigators and police officers searched the headquarters of the public telecommunications company PTK in Pristina on Thursday (July 15th). The raids were part of ongoing investigations into possible financial fraud and corruption. They targeted a total of eight locations -- three in Pristina, and five in Peja, including a private company with ties to the PTK. According to EULEX, the investigations pertain to two multi-million contracts between PTK and Dardafon Mobile for obtaining telecommunication licenses. The seven-and -a-half hour raid on the PTK offices resulted in the confiscation of materials and computers, but no arrests. EULEX also searched the homes of PTK officials and private company representatives. (Kosova Sot, Koha Ditore - 16/07/10; Kohavision, RTK, Telegrafi - 15/07/10)
