Turkish police make more Ergenekon-related arrests

ANKARA, Turkey -- Police arrested about 20 active and retired military officers Thursday (March 18th) as part of investigations into the so-called Ergenekon organisation, media reported. The group is suspected of planning to overthrow the government of the ruling Justice and Development Party. Thursday's arrests spanned eight cities. According to NTV, guns and grenades were found in the suspects' homes. Their identities have not been released. (Reuters, Hurriyet, Guardian, AP - 18/03/10)
