Serbia investigating Kosovo war crimes suspects

BELGRADE, Serbia -- War crimes prosecutors announced on Saturday (March 13th) they are investigating 26 people suspected of committing crimes against Albanians in Kosovo in 1999. Nine other people were arrested in Serbia on Friday for those war crimes, specifically the robbing and killing of over 200 Albanians in May 1999 in villages near Pec, in western Kosovo. The 26 are suspected of killing 41 people in one village on May 14th 1999. All the suspects were either members of a Serb paramilitary unit called Cakali or reservist police officers.
