Spanish police arrest Montenegrin "Monster of Grbavica" suspect

MADRID, Spain -- Police have arrested a man suspected of war crimes committed during the 1992-1995 Bosnian conflict, the interior ministry announced on Tuesday (March 2nd). Veselin Vlahovic, who was born in Montenegro, is accused of the murder, rape and torture of non-Serbs while a member of a paramilitary unit from 1992 to 1993. Vlahovic, known as the "Monster of Grbavica", is wanted by Montenegrin, Serbian and Bosnian authorities. In 2001, Vlahovic was in a Montenegro prison for armed robbery and a shooting, but escaped.
