Three arrested for Crete synagogue fire

ATHENS, Greece -- Two British nationals and a Greek citizen -- all employees of a Crete nightclub -- were arrested Friday (January 22nd) on arson charges in attacks against a synagogue on the island, police said. According to local media, two US citizens are still being sought in the case. The attacks occurred on January 5th and January 16th, destroying the synagogue's library and archives. The building was the only Jewish temple on the island. (Kathimerini - 23/01/10; Reuters, Xinhua, RIA-Novosti, DPA - 22/01/10)
