Albania buys five helicopters

TIRANA, Albania -- The government signed a contract Friday (December 18th) to buy five military helicopters costing 78.6m euros, to be paid over the next four years. The helicopters, AS 532 AL Cougars, will be provided by the French company France Eurocopter. The first of them are expected to arrive in the country next year. Albania currently has 12 transport helicopters in use, donated by Germany in 2004. (Lajmifundit, Telegrafi - 21/12/09)
