16/12/2009

BRUSSELS, Belgium -- EU presidency holder Sweden on Tuesday (December 15th) lauded the smooth process of the second round of municipal elections on Sunday. In a statement, Sweden said the proceedings went normally, which marks important progress in consolidating a democratic and multiethnic society in accordance with European standards. Sweden singled out the work of the Central Election Commission (CEC), saying it believes the CEC will continue to investigate some reported issues involving the vote. Sweden also welcomed the monitoring offered by the European Network of Election Monitoring Organisations. (Kohavision, RTK, Klan Kosova, Telegrafi - 15/12/09)
