Church to choose new patriarch in January

BELGRADE, Serbia -- The Serbian Orthodox Church Synod decided on Wednesday (November 25th) to elect the new Serbian patriarch on January 22nd. The post became vacant with the death of patriarch Pavle, who passed away in mid-November at the age of 95, after spending two years at Belgrade's military hospital.
