EP recommends visa-free regime for Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro

BRUSSELS, Belgium -- The European Parliament (EP) adopted a report Thursday (November 12th) that recommends scrapping visa requirements for Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro beginning December 19th. The vote was 550 to 37, with 51 abstentions. According to the document, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania would be included in the visa-free regime once they meet the necessary criteria. The final decision is up to the EU interior ministers, who vote by the end of this month. (Beta, RTS, Tanjug, Makfax, MIA - 12/11/09)
