Croatia announces first swine flu death

ZAGREB, Croatia -- Authorities announced on Saturday (October 31st) the country's first death from swine flu. The victim, a 61-year-old man, died in hospital in Split after spending ten days in critical condition. More than 1,000 cases of the H1N1 virus have been registered in Croatia so far, most of them in Zagreb. But on Friday, the Institute of Public Health in Split announced epidemics in Split-Dalmatian County. On Wednesday, a school in Split was closed due to the number of infected students.
