Albania steps up anti-drug efforts

TIRANA, Albania -- Police seized and destroyed drugs in several operations across the country over the past few days, local media reported on Tuesday (July 7th). It was cannabis that turned up in the village of Shkrel near Shkodra, as well as in a village near Telepela. On Sunday, police in the town of Korca arrested a suspect carrying 30 packs of marijuana on the Korca-Gjirokastra main road. The drugs were allegedly hidden in two sport bags.
