Bulgaria investigates senior magistrate for corruption

SOFIA, Bulgaria -- The National Security Agency is investigating Sofia City Court (SCC) Chairman Svetlin Mihailov for suspected corruption, local media reported on Saturday (June 20th). Mihailov allegedly attempted to pressure SCC judges into supporting a claim by the Multigroup business corporation for ownership of a building that currently houses the Bulgarian-American Cultural Centre for People with Disabilities. The building was donated by a local NGO, the Centre for Psychological Studies. (Sofia news agency, Dnevnik, BGNES, Dnes, Darik, Mediapool, Sofia Echo, BNN - 20/06/09)
