Albanian policeman arrested in Turkey

09/06/2009

ANKARA, Turkey -- Police have arrested three Albanians for alleged drug trafficking, media reported on Monday (June 8th), including a police officer working at the Tirana International Airport. This is the second case in a month in which an Albanian official was detained in Turkey on drug-related charges. In May, Turkish police arrested Agim Haxhiu, second secretary at the Albanian Embassy in Skopje, who allegedly used a diplomatic car to travel from Macedonia to Turkey carrying 65kg of heroin.
