Earthquake rattles northern Greece, southern Bulgaria

ATHENS, Greece -- An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale shook north-eastern Greece and southern Bulgaria early Monday (December 29th), media reported. The tremor's epicentre was located in the Mediterranean Sea, east of the Greek island of Samothraki. Bystanders reported feeling tremors in parts of Bulgaria as well, including Kurdzhali, Haskovo, Plovdiv and Sofia. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
