Croatia takes over UN Security Council presidency

ZAGREB, Croatia -- On Monday (December 1st), Croatia assumes the one-month rotating presidency of the UN Security Council. Permanent representative Neven Jurica will hold a press conference Tuesday to present the council's working programme for December. It includes hosting a discussion on "Global Security and International Terrorism" in New York on December 9th that Croatian President Stipe Mesic will attend. Also this month, the council will hear a series of important reports, including the six-month progress report by Hague tribunal chief prosecutor Serge Brammertz on war crimes co-operation and one by Miroslav Lajcak, international community high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
