Turkish government seeks extension of military mandate in northern Iraq

ANKARA, Turkey -- The government decided on Wednesday (September 17th) to ask parliament to extend the mandate for cross-border military operations against the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq by a year. The current mandate expires on October 17th.
