ANKARA, Turkey -- Gunmen in a car opened fire on a cafe in the Tarsus district of the Mersin province on Sunday (September 14th), killing two people and seriously injuring five others. Authorities suspect a blood feud was to blame.
In other news, a land mine killed two Turkish soldiers and injured two others Saturday in the southeast province of Sirnak, near the Iraqi border, the general staff said on its website Sunday. Personnel defused four other explosive devices planted in the same area by the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party. (CNN Turk, Hurriyet, Dogan news agency, AFP - 14/09/08)
