BUCHAREST, Romania -- The Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) on Friday (September 12th) appointed its deputy leader, Theodor Stolojan, as the party's candidate for prime minister. The decision was adopted unanimously by the PDL's leadership at its annual national conference. The PDL also approved the party's governance platform, which envisages an average wage of 900 euros and an average pension of 405 euros. The PDL, the ruling National Liberal Party (PNL) and the main opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD) are expected to be the main contenders in the parliamentary elections on November 30th.
