NATO commander praises Montenegro's role in Balkans

PODGORICA, Montenegro -- The commander of NATO's South Wing, Admiral Mark Fitzgerald, on Tuesday (September 9th) praised Montenegro for its "stabilising influence" in the Balkans. NATO sees Montenegro as a "great partner", Fitzgerald said during a visit to Podgorica. He told Defence Minister Boro Vucinic that he is impressed with the country's military reform since it gained independence in 2006. (RTCG, Mina, AP - 09/09/08)
