PRISTINA, Kosovo -- Former Culture Minister Astrit Haraqija and an associate, Bajrush Morina, pleaded not guilty at The Hague war crimes tribunal Monday (September 8th). They allegedly attempted to intimidate witnesses scheduled to testify in the trial of former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj. Haraqija and Morina's trial is expected to end on Friday.
In other news, President Fatmir Sejdiu has decided to forego his salary raise amid reports he is one of the best-paid presidents in the region. His office announced that Sejdiu's monthly pay will fall from 3,100 euros to 2,600 euros. (Express, Koha ditore, Telegrafi, Balkan Insight - 09/09/08)
