NEW YORK, United States -- Serbia's Jelena Jankovic lost to top-seed Serena Williams 6-4, 7-5 in the rain-delayed final of the US Open on Sunday night (September 7th). The AP described it as a "thrill-a-minute match". It was the first Grand Slam final for Jankovic, who is 23. (AP, BBC - 08/09/08)
