ANKARA, Turkey -- Members of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) killed three Turkish soldiers and three village guards in clashes in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Sunday (September 7th). Hakkari Governor Ayhan Nasuhbeyoglu said PKK militants opened fire on Turkish security forces near the town of Semdinli. In response, the army launched a large-scale operation to track down the attackers. Army sources said the military has sent three helicopters carrying new troops to the area near the Iraqi border.
