Wildfire destroys houses in Macedonia

SKOPJE, Macedonia -- A wildfire near Lake Dorjan destroyed five houses in the area Saturday (August 30th), but authorities reported no casualties. Firefighters managed to take control of the blaze Sunday. Local residents joined the operation, while neighbouring Greece also offered help. The destroyed houses were all located in the Novdorjan tourist settlement, about 130km south of Skopje. A truck that caught fire near Novdorjan was the source of the blaze.
