Clashes between PKK and security forces in southeast Turkey kill 21

ANKARA, Turkey -- At least 16 Kurdish rebels were killed in clashes between security forces and members of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the town of Mutki, in the eastern province of Bitlis on Tuesday (August 26th). Local officials say 14 rebels died in a battle with Turkish soldiers, while security forces killed two other insurgents in a separate clash near the city of Mardin. Five guards also died.
