Two arrested in Greece for allegedly starting forest fires

ATHENS, Greece -- Police announced on Sunday (August 24th) the arrests of two men suspected of starting forest fires in central Greece. One, an Albanian national, was apprehended in the region of Nafpakt. Police think he had an accomplice. Separately, a 17-year-old Greek national suspected of starting forest fires over a two month period was detained in the Thesprotia region.

In other news, forest fires in Montenegro forced tourists to evacuate the resort town of Budva on the Adriatic coast late Thursday. Fire-fighting aircraft from Italy and Serbia helped to control the flames late Friday. (RIA Novosti, GZT, Focus - 24/08/08; RTCG - 22/08/08)
