Turkish journalists wounded in southern Ossetia

ANKARA, Turkey -- The foreign ministry says two Turkish journalists covering fighting in southern Ossetia were wounded on Sunday (August 10th). Gunmen reportedly opened fire on a vehicle carrying the journalists.

In other news Sunday, Turkish Airlines cancelled its flights to the Georgian cities of Tbilisi and Batumi due to security concerns. A spokesman said the airline "will be monitoring the conflict and will resume regular flights depending on the situation". (Sabah - 11/08/08; Hurriyet, Dogan news agency, Turkish Press - 10/08/08)
