Turkey sends medical team to Georgian border

ANKARA, Turkey -- Turkey's Red Crescent announced on Saturday (August 9th) that it is sending a medical team to the border between Turkey and South Ossetia in an effort to help victims of the armed conflict between Russia and Georgia. The team will work in a field hospital near the Sarp border checkpoint. Turkey also began to supply electricity to Georgia after the country asked Ankara to help it with its energy supplies.
