Two Serbs charged with mass murder in Zvornik

BELGRADE, Serbia -- War crimes prosecutors announced on Tuesday (August 5th) plans to charge two Serbs with the 1992 murders of an estimated 700 Muslims in Bosnia. In a statement, prosecutors said Branko Grujic and Branko Popovic "intentionally and in collaboration" took part in the "mass murder" of Muslim citizens. It said they committed the crimes near the town of Zvornik, not far from the border between Serbia and Bosnia. Grujic and Popovic held senior posts in local government at the time.
