ROME, Italy -- Romanian President Traian Basescu said on Thursday (July 31st) his country will co-operate with Italian authorities to resolve the problem of Roma camps in Italy. After meeting Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi during a one-day working visit to Rome, Basescu said his country wants to create a common plan to help the Roma population with Romanian citizenship living in Italy. Berlusconi said Italian Interior Minister Roberto Maroni will visit Bucharest next week to discuss how EU funding can aid the integration of Roma communities.
