Greek Cypriot, Turkish Cypriot negotiators to meet Friday

NICOSIA, Cyprus -- The technical committees and working groups assigned to prepare for the resumption of talks to reunify the divided island of Cyprus are poised to begin work Friday (April 18th), according to the UN mission there. A statement Wednesday noted that advisers to Greek Cypriot President Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat have agreed on the topics the six working groups and seven technical committees will discuss. Before this, there will be a short ceremony at the airport in Nicosia. (CNA, ANA-MPA, UN website, DPA, AP, Reuters - 16/04/08)
