04/03/2008

SKOPJE, Macedonia -- Police smashed an international human trafficking ring and arrested 15 people in an operation late Sunday (March 2nd), Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska announced on Monday. One suspect is still being sought. "This is a group that illegally transferred 18 people from China and Albania to Greece," the minister said. The immigrants were illegally transported to Macedonia from Serbia. The arrests followed a five month-long surveillance operation involving undercover officers.
