Macedonian parliament approves EU Integration National Council

SKOPJE, Macedonia -- Parliament unanimously approved the establishment of a National Council on EU Integration on Tuesday (December 25th). The council's main goal will be to boost activities aimed at the country's NATO and EU accession. Radmila Sekerinska, leader of the main opposition Social Democratic Alliance of Macedonia (SDSM), was elected chair of the council, while Stojan Andov of the Liberal Party of Macedonia will be deputy. The council has 17 members, with the coalition and opposition parties having three representatives each. (Makfax, BIRN - 25/12/07)
