Macedonia, KFOR endorse interim border protection agreement

SKOPJE, Macedonia -- Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska said on Tuesday (September 4th) that the ministry and KFOR have endorsed an interim agreement on protecting the Kosovo-Macedonian border. The aim of the accord, to be implemented in the next 12 months, would be to boost co-operation and co-ordination in border control mechanism, boost border security and strengthen efforts against illegal trafficking of goods and people.

In other news, Irish Minister of State for Defence Tom Kitt arrived on Tuesday for a three-day visit to Kosovo. In addition to meeting with officials there, he will inspect Irish troops deployed in KFOR. Ireland recently took over as lead nation in the multinational task force around Pristina.
