18/12/2006

DOBOJ, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) -- Republika Srpska's (RS) main opposition Serb Democratic Party (SDS) on Saturday (December 16th) elected Mladen Bosic as provisional party leader until the next SDS congress in May 2007. Prior to the vote, the SDS assembly unanimously endorsed the resignation of chairman Dragan Cavic, who quit amid internal party disputes stemming from SDS' defeat in the October 1st general elections. On Sunday, Bosic said his main goal would be stabilising the party so it can focus on preparations for the 2008 local elections.
