Sekerinska elected leader of Macedonia's main opposition party

06/11/2006

SKOPJE, Macedonia -- Radmila Sekerinska is the new leader of the main opposition Social Democratic Alliance of Macedonia (SDSM), following a party congress on Sunday (November 5th). She had been deputy chairperson of SDSM and was the former EU integration minister. Her election followed a no-confidence motion against party chairman Vlado Buckovski, requested weeks ago due to SDSM's defeat in the July elections. (A1 TV, Vecer - 06/11/06)
