BiH election commission confirms results of October 1st vote

SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) -- The Central Election Commission (CEC) confirmed on Friday (October 27) the results of the October 1st general vote. Haris Silajdzic of the Party for BiH (SBiH) was elected Bosniak member of the tripartite presidency. Zeljko Komsic of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is the Croat member and Nebojsa Radmanovic from the Union of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) is the Serb member. They will be sworn in on November 6th. Milan Jelic of SNSD is the new president of Republika Srpska (RS).

The BiH Parliament's House of Representatives will be dominated by the Bosniak Party of Democratic Action (SDA), SBiH, SNSD, SDP, the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ)-led coalition and the Serb Democratic Party (SDS). The SDA, SBiH, SDP and the HDZ-led coalition will prevail in the Federation of BiH Parliament. In the RS Assembly, it is the SNSD, SDS and the Party of Democratic Progress.
