Macedonian authorities adopt new anti-smoking rules

SKOPJE, Macedonia -- A new law that restricts smoking in many public areas went into effect in Macedonia on Monday (2 January). Smoking is now prohibited on public transportation, in schools, universities and at indoor sporting and cultural events. Government offices, bars and restaurants will have to set up non-smoking areas. (AP - 02/01/06)
