Sanader Visit Strengthens Zagreb's Ties With Belgrade

16/11/2004

BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro -- Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader paid a landmark visit to Belgrade on Monday (15 November) in a bid to further normalise relations. Serbia-Montenegro President Svetozar Marovic said afterwards that he and the Croatian leader had confirmed the "mutual political interests" of the two countries -- better bilateral relations, strengthening of regional stability and progress towards membership in the EU. Sanader also met with Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica. They discussed open issues such as refugee returns and the search for missing persons.
