The Turkey Parliamentary elections were held on 3 November 2002. The ruling party, the Justice and Development Party (AKP) took 34.28 per cent of the vote. The Republican People's Party (CHP) followed with 19.39 per cent of the vote. AKP and CHP took 541 of the 550 parliamentary seats.
Other parties receiving votes included the True Path Party, the Nationalist Movement Party, the Youth Party, the Democratic People's Party, the Motherland Party and the Democratic Left Party.
