Serbian Presidential Election Fails
The data collected by the Centre for Free Elections and Democracy shows that Serbia did not elect a new president in the re-run presidential elections on 8 December 2002. This was due to only 45.2 percent, or 2,950,000 voters turning out at the polling stations.
From the votes cast, Vojislav Kostunica won 57.7 percent or 1,700,000 votes; Borislav Pelevic 3.6 percent or 105,000 votes; and Vojislav Seselj won 36.3 percent or 1,070,000 votes.
The election has not yet been rescheduled.
