Serbia held early parliamentary elections on 28 December 2003 after the country's presidential elections failed for the third time. The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) won 28 per cent of the vote, and 82 seats in the assembly. The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) followed, with 18 per cent of the vote and 53 seats. The Democratic Party (DS) won 37 seats and 13 per cent of the vote; G17 Plus won 34 seats and 12 per cent of the vote; the Serbian Renewal Movement - New Serbia (SPO-NS) won 8 per cent of the vote and 22 seats; and the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) won 8 per cent of the vote and 22 seats. The rest of the votes, 14 per cent, went to other running parties. Voter turnout was 58.8 per cent.
