Bosnia and Herzegovina held parliamentary elections on 5 October 2002. In the Federation of BiH, the Democratic Action Party (SDA) took the most votes, at 32.4 per cent. The Party of BiH (SBiH)came in with the second highest amount of votes, with 16.2 per cent. Seats were filled by SDA, SBiH, HDZ-BiH, the Democratic Socialist Party, Federation of BiH -- the BiH Party, the Pensioners' Party of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, People's Democratic Union, Economic Block HDU for Prosperity and the New Croatian Initiative.
In Republika Srpska, The Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) took the most votes, with 33.7 percent and the Party of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD( took the second highest with 23.4 per cent. Seats were taken by SDS, SNSD, the Party of Democratic Progress, the Democratic Action Party, the Serb Radical Party, the Socialist Party of RS and the Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
