Local Elections
Albania held the third round of local elections on 12 October 2003. Due to a boycott by Democratic Party commissioners, there were partial runoff elections on 16 November 2003 and 29 December 2003.
The Socialist Party of Albania (SP) won the majority of the positions with 34.6 per cent of the vote. Following them with 32.2 per cent of the votes was the Democratic Party (DP). The Social Democratic Party (SDP) won 5.3 per cent of the vote; while the Republican Party (RP) had 3.3 per cent and the Agrarian Environmental Party (AEP) received 3.2 per cent.
