SOFIA, Bulgaria -- Defence Minister Anyu Angelov said on Wednesday (September 1st) that Bulgaria will send no additional troops to join the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan next year. The statement coincided with the opening of the new academic year at the National Defence Academy. In June, the government decided to send 65 military instructors and medical staff to join Bulgaria's 540-strong mission in Afghanistan by the end of this year. (Xinhua, Mediapool, Focus - 01/09/10)
